Built on trust. Open to verify.

LEWO is built on a simple principle: you shouldn't have to trust a privacy claim — you should be able to verify it. This page is about who builds LEWO, and how you can check our most important claim for yourself.

The person behind LEWO

Hamza Fareed

Software Engineer — Building LEWO Messenger

Hamza is a software engineer who builds LEWO end to end — the apps, the encryption, and the infrastructure behind them. He started LEWO out of a conviction that has only grown stronger with time: private communication is a right, not a premium feature, and people deserve technology that respects them without asking for anything in return.

That conviction shapes how LEWO is made. A privacy claim you can't check is just marketing — so the encryption core that protects your private messages is published openly, for anyone to read and verify. No hype, no fine print: the principle is honesty, and the proof is public.

Don't trust us — verify us

The encryption core is open source

The cryptographic core of LEWO — the exact code that agrees on keys and turns your private messages into ciphertext — is published publicly, so anyone can inspect how the encryption works and confirm it does what we say.

lewo-e2ee-core — the published encryption core, with its full test suite. Clone it, read it, run the tests yourself: the same key agreement and message encryption that protect your conversations in LEWO.

To be precise: it's the encryption core that is open source — the code responsible for end-to-end encrypting your private conversations. For a plain-English walkthrough of what's encrypted and what our servers can and cannot see, read How LEWO Encryption Works.

Our commitments

The principles LEWO is built on

We cannot read your private messages

End-to-end encryption means only you and your recipient hold the keys. Not a promise of restraint — a mathematical property of how LEWO works.

Privacy by design, open to verify

Privacy is built into the architecture, not bolted on — and the encryption core is published so it's verifiable, not just a claim.

No backdoors, no surveillance

We will never add backdoors or surveillance to LEWO — whatever the pressure. Weakening encryption for anyone weakens it for everyone.

Never sold, tracked, or used for ads

Your private messages are never sold, tracked, or used for advertising. Encrypted content can't be mined — by us or anyone else.

See it for yourself
